Cataract Service

A cataract is the clouding of the lens of the eye that prevents vision. Cataract accounts for more than half of blindness cases worldwide, which is unfortunate as it is a treatable condition. Advanced age is the main cause of cataracts. Surgery is the only treatment for cataracts. During cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is replaced by an intraocular lens. This damages the eyes and makes the patient vulnerable to complicated surgery.
